What did you wish you knew before going to your university? What made you choose this institution over all others? What are advantages and disadvantages of your institution or campus? List any advice for incoming first-year students about your university.

I chose this program because it gives me an opportunity to learn about each stream of business in my first 2 years before I picked what stream to specialize in. Schulich is also a very well known business school in Canada, with that in mind it should play a factor in helping me find a job once I graduate and that is another reason why I picked this program.

In my first year, I wished I joined more clubs as that is a great way to meet more people in your program, either them being in your year or upper years. A great aspect of this school and program is that a vast majority of the upper year students are very outgoing and willing to help you out with any questions that you will have.

What was your favourite university experience?

My best university experience would have to be frosh week. The week long event was a great way to be integrated into york/schulich. Another positive experience would be meeting a bunch of new people at schulich that will help me through my years at the school.

What was your least favourite university experience?

My worst university experience would have to be midterm/final season, as it is a lot of work to prepare for, but this is something that can improve throughout my years at this school as I can pick up new study habits to fix this overall experience.

What is the hardest part about your program and what were the steps that you took to overcome any difficulties?

The work from all the courses you are required to take in your first year is definitely manageable if you put time into it. A course that I would watch out for would be MGMT1050, business analytics. This course was a tough one for many students in my year but if you do the practice questions and ask for help you should be fine.

If you were able to take electives, what was your favourite elective? If you were not able to take electives, what was your favourite course and why?

my favorite courses would have to be mgmt1000 (intro to business) as it was mainly assignments you would work with a group, so you would keep each other accountable to make sure the work is done in a timely manner. Both accounting courses were quite good (ACTG 2010, ACTG2011) as the professors were very engaging which made the learning experience quite enjoyable.
