Job Description
Responsibilities

Compile research on topics relating to governance, policy and legal opinions to form recommendations

Formulate, review and implement organizational policies and bylaws throughout LEAP Canada
-
Formulate and review contracts concerning confidentiality, sponsorships, media, volunteering
-
Conduct organization-wide gap analyses in order to identify policy and legal risks and develop recommendations for the Board of Directors
-
Support other department initiatives as needed

Qualifications

-
Strong knowledge of the not-for-profit corporate structure in Canada
-
Strong interest in and willingness to learn policy and legal development practices
-
Works well in a team environment
-
Ability to research and interpret legal writings and condense information while forming recommendations on next steps.

Strong attention to detail
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Prior experience with policy development or legal writing is an asset
-
Possess strong critical thinking and analytical skills to receive and interpret reports, ask relevant questions and act in the best interests of LEAP.

Understand and be committed to the mission and values of LEAP Canada.
